Fun illustrations and a good story

I love the few bits of history mentioned in this book and it respects the child's intellect, instead of talking down to them. The illustrations also entertained and encouraged my imagination. As an adult reading to a child, I also have to be interested in the book. This book encourages children to read - and excellent for children who enjoy food. Have more of Tomie dePaola's books on my Wishlist and gift list!

My Kids Love This Book

My kids (ages 3 and 1) *love* this book!! I read it over and over to them.
I was hoping this book would be more of a handbook, since we just started growing our own popcorn. At first glance, I thought it might have too many words to keep my kids engaged; I'm glad I was wrong. They love it.
There are two methods (at the very end) of popping corn, too.
We may have to purchase another copy of this book. Ours has been very loved.

So interesting and educational!

Whoa! I learned so much from this book!
How have I never read this book before? I'm a fourth grade teacher and we did a STEM project where we had to make a popcorn container. This seemed like a good book to read before the unit but oh man, it applied to our curriculum and I love that it included the characters researching in the book.
I guarantee you will learn something from this book too! Plus Tomie de Paola is amazing so what are you waiting for? Click buy!
